Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was sixteen, she had landed several television roles, including the lead role in the movie Downfall Youth With No Youth Control. The critically acclaimed character she played in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play several other acclaimed roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, for the film Downfall. This film won an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated movies featuring the divas. Alexandra is involved in numerous notable projects at both a national and international level. For instance, the British biographical film Control, the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon include among those. She was also on juries for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
